Touhou - Stages!
Touhou-themed matching card game for the Touhou Station Jam 2026. Supports up to 4-player LAN multiplayer.
How to play
Matching card game similar to James Bond (card game), Lemon, and P***s (from which it takes heavy inspiration), where you assemble piles of characters that belong to the same Touhou game.
At the start of the game you are dealt a given number of piles, face down, and shared cards, face up. The goal is to build piles of six characters that belong to stages 1 to 6 of the same Touhou game.
After the cards are dealt, you can choose any pile to bring the cards to your hand, and then trade one of the cards in your hand with any of the shared cards. Try checking all your piles before making a trade. You can only view one pile at a time, and you can only trade one card at a time. If you aren't quick enough, another player may take the card you need!
When you think that your hand is correct, press the button to submit it. If the hand is not valid you will get a penalty and lose points. The game ends when all but one player submit all their piles, and the player with the highest score wins.
Examples of valid hands:
- Rumia, Cirno, Meiling, Patchouli, Sakuya, Remilia (all characters belong to Touhou 6).
- Chimata, Misumaru, Sannyo, Mike, Megumu, Takane (all characters belong to Touhou 18).
Examples of wrong hands:
- Rumia, Cirno, Meiling, Patchouli, Youmu, Remilia (Youmu belongs to Touhou 7; the rest belong to Touhou 6. You should exchange Youmu for Sakuya if you can).
- Aya, Sanae, Kanako, Ubame, Chimi, Nareko (the first 3 belong to Touhou 10 and the last 3 belong to Touhou 20. You should exchange the Touhou 10 characters for Touhou 20 characters, or the other way around).
How to play multiplayer
Up to 4 players can compete against each other. Each player must have their own computer and a copy of the game. All players must have the same version of the game, and all computers must be connected to the same local network (for example, the same WiFi network). You can also use Hamachi to play over the internet, or you can port forward and host if your ISP lets you.
One player will host the match and the others will connect to them. To host, start the game and press "Host". To join a game, start the game, type the local IP address of the host, and press "Join".
Due to browser restrictions multiplayer only works in the desktop version.
If you are playing a multiplayer match and suddenly become unable to pick up any of the shared cards, you may have disconnected from the host. If that happens, you can try to wait until the game reconnects, or ask the host to start a new match.
